Chanel Pop-Up Store at Covent Garden

If you've read my post on my Chanel collection (see it here) you'll know that when news of a Chanel Beauty Pop-Up Store opening in London was released I was unbelievably excited. It opened on 24 July (just in time for the Olympics!) and I made a trip last week to check it out. *Warning Picture Heavy Post coming up!*

Apparently the aim of the Pop-Up is to make Chanel more accessible as a brand rather than being seen as an elite product that people would be nervous about trying. The intention is that consumers can come in and test products and explore the brand in a relaxed environment. They've worked really hard to create an interactive informal environment right down to the more relaxed black shirt and trousers of the staff uniform. Whoever did the design for the store did a great job, they've paid so much attention to detail.

They've created beautiful displays using Chanel products, including the iconic Camellia, Coco Chanel's favourite flower.

Given that nail polish, most particularly Chanel, is my passion that was the thing I was most interested in seeing and they didn't disappoint. The store boasts Chanel's first nail bar in a teeny downstairs room accessed via spiral staircase. You can get a shape and polish for £20 which is redeemable against products so well worth it if you're picking some bits up during your trip. The iconic Chanel nail polish bottles are on display throughout the store in a variety of settings including beautiful backlit perspex cubes.

They even featured the new shades from the Autumn-Winter collection - Frenzy ,Vertigo and Suspicious - in these boxes before they were released. Whilst it was great to see them there is nothing more frustrating than having new Chanel goodies at your fingertips but beyond reach! As of this Monday (13th August) the Autumn-Winter collection is exclusively available at the pop-up store and they inform me it'll be there for the next three weeks before it goes on general sale so head down there if you want to check it out early.

There are tester bars laid out throughout the store with great lighting and mirrors so you can go mad trying out all of the colours.

They also have polish cubes dotted around the store painted in shades matched to their products.

Gorgeous aren't they...I need a stack of these for my collection.....

I've already posted a picture of the stunning window signs but I'm adding it here because I love them so much. It's Chanel! It lights up! What more could you want??

The staff were absolutely lovely, really friendly and happy to talk about the products. Apparently they are having a series of exclusive events in store over the next few months until they close in December. I tried to pump them for information on the rumoured Chanel Treasure Hunt around Christmas but they wouldn't be swayed! If you are a Chanel fan or just love beauty you really must head down there and have a look.

P.s. You may be wondering if I ended up picking anything up.....What do you think?.......Of course I did but that's a whole other post in the making......
